Design Philosophy
As designers in a post industrial age we have more access to materials and methodology than ever before. It is important to reflect on what drives us to make objects and to decide what impacts our design decisions will have on others. Exploring the psyche of the final user is a very worthwhile research endeavor. How do design decisions change mood and behavior and should they?
Objects should have meaning and purpose and should be designed and manufactured with intent. When I design and build something I strive to determine the longevity of the object. Typically my work is functional so I try to think of materials that will withstand use as well as simplicity in construction so that dis-assembly and repair are easy functions.

Concerns
As a designer I am taking opportunities to explore possibilities where others see waste. It is important to use what we have to build and design rather than create new waste streams. I often source materials from the garbage and use discarded products to help rethink new creations. There is still a lot of energy and promise in many items that are tossed.
